Richmond 3rd Alarm - Hioaks Road - December 1, 2009

A box alarm was sounded for smoke in the hallway of the Chesterfield Square assisted living facility in the 1000 block of Hioaks Road, directly next to CJW Hospital (Chippenham). The incident was soon upgraded to a 3rd alarm due to the volume of fire and the nearly 100 occupants of the facility, a majority of them being elderly. Chesterfield Fire & EMS was also on scene and assisted with making 3rd floor ground ladder rescues from the C/D corner while heavy fire presented itself over the effected apartment. Three ladder pipes were placed in service, and knocked down a bulk of the fire.
